Refried beans are not the great mystery everyone thinks they are. They are simple to make and come out delicious.
1 can of black beans.
(Or from scratch)
Heat oil in skillet until it is sizzling hot. Pour in the beans including the liquid, this will steam up super high and sizzle and pop so be careful.
Add minced garlic, minced onion, salt, pepper and cumin.
Turn heat to medium and slowly mash and stir the beans with a fork. Keep cooking and mashing until you get a thick lava like paste. If you have a little too much liquid, cook down or add a little flour to thicken.
